Connect to controller
Same UART wire protocol as the Penov/Penoff BafangConfigTool (1200 baud), rebuilt for Web Serial. Works in Chrome, Edge, or Opera on desktop. Plug in your USB–UART cable, then hit Connect and pick the port.
Session

Connect pings the controller for its General block (manufacturer, model, firmware, nominal voltage, max current) — same handshake the original tool performs.
Read all chains Basic → Pedal Assist → Throttle reads, exactly like the original "READ FLASH" button. Do this twice on first connect, per the community's own advice — the first read is sometimes a stale/garbage frame.

Range depends on nominal pack voltage read from the controller.
Ceiling reported by controller sets the max here.

Cadence response tuning
How the motor reacts to pedaling: sensor type, start behaviour, and how quickly it lets go when you stop — the parameter that protects your drivetrain during shifts.
Community consensus: negligible effect on BBS02 — safe to leave undetermined.
Lower = motor lets go faster when you stop pedaling. Protects the chain during shifts. BBS02B may floor around 20.

Import/export is byte-for-byte compatible with the original tool's .el format — profiles saved here open fine in the Penov tool, and vice versa. Presets below load values into the fields only; nothing is sent to the controller until you press Write.

Ride simulator — compare two profiles
Estimates top speed, hill-climb speed and launch feel from your settings using power-balance physics (P = drag + rolling resistance + grade force, at your controller's current draw). This is a comparison tool, not a dyno-calibrated prediction — treat the numbers as relative, not gospel.

Defaults assume ~95kg rider + ~20kg converted hardtail, moderate MTB tire rolling resistance (Crr 0.006), upright riding position (CdA 0.55). Wheel size and current-limit ceiling are read from the profile itself.
